Dear DEADSIDE Developers,
I am writing this message out of extreme frustration after losing five hours of progress due to a sudden and unannounced server wipe.
Between 17:08 – 17:10 (GMT+7), I died while attempting a Helicrash mission. I respawned near my base specifically to recover my gear. Before I could retrieve anything, the server abruptly disconnected and wiped—presumably for a patch update—resulting in the complete loss of all my items.
I spent five continuous hours (12:00 – 17:00) farming resources. That included:
Almost 400 Metal Scraps
A large amount of explosives and high-value loot
Everything was wiped instantly. No warning. No recovery. No compensation.
This kind of server management is unacceptable. If a wipe or patch is planned, servers should be shut down properly, not left running as if nothing is wrong. Letting players invest hours of time and then wiping progress without notice is one of the fastest ways to drive players away.
On top of that, the game still suffers from severe and strange ping spikes and lag, an issue that has existed since last year and remains unresolved. I can provide evidence if needed.
DEADSIDE looks great and has strong gameplay fundamentals, but situations like this clearly explain why the game struggles to grow. The potential is there—but the systems and server handling are actively damaging the player experience.
At the very least, I expect:
Restoration of my lost Metal Scraps and items, or
A serious change in how and when patches and wipes are deployed
I want this game to succeed, especially in Asia. But right now, experiences like this make it extremely hard to keep supporting or recommending DEADSIDE.
Regards,
