
Hey devs, I’ve been playing Deadside for a long time now, and one thing I’ve always wished the building system had is more flexibility. Right now, everything is limited to square foundations and straight walls, which forces every base to feel like a box no matter how creative you try to get.
I’d really love to see some angled foundations, angled walls, and angled roof pieces added into the game. Think of the kind of freedom you get in Rust or even the more structured angled pieces you see in Dune’s building system being able to snap triangle or angled segments onto what you’ve already built. It doesn’t have to be crazy or unrealistic; just enough to break away from the strict square grid we’re stuck with.
Pieces like:
Half-angle foundations (45°) for smoother corners
Shallow angle foundations (30°) for bigger curved layouts
Angled wall connectors so we can finally make proper angled hallways or defensive corners
Angled roofs so pyramid-style bases don’t look scuffed or half-finished
As someone who’s built countless bases across wipes, these would open up so many layout options. Players could actually make:
Pyramid or ziggurat-style bases
Circular or octagon-style compounds
Cleaner, more symmetrical builds
Better defensive angles without weird clipping
Right now, we have to fight the system just to make something that isn’t a plain square stack. Adding angled building pieces wouldn’t change the core gameplay it would just finally let players express themselves and build in a way that feels less restricted.
Deadside has grown a lot over the years, and the building system is solid it just needs these extra tools to really shine. I think a lot of long-time players would love to see this kind of expansion.

I agree with this. I love building and expanding in games, especially Rust. I find the building in Deadside very lack lustre.
