Mod support will make this game thrive

My guess is that we need a much bigger playerbase first. Even assuming that private servers are locked to Gportal, mod support will take A LOT of backend security work, which would have to come at the expense of features & bugfixes.

Release the server files, and modding framework = dayz popularity ETA 3 months….
EEEEZZZZZ!!!!
Its so braindead they havent figured this out yet - and we’ve been telling them for 3 years…….. game is deadgame until they do this.

@4guage - you have no clue what you are talking about. You’re just making random nonsense up.
I’m a game dev. shipped much bigger games than this one. worked on dayz mods and ran dayz servers. as well as 7dtd, ark, conan, (and about 20 others)…
ALL of those games have:
1) server files available for download and self hosting; and
2) modding framework
…. this game MUST do this, or the game WILL NOT survive - there are too many better options (with self hosted servers + modding frameworks) out there. This game cannot compete with any of them unless it follows suit - WHICH IS STANDARD IN THIS INDUSTRY!
It will take LESS work to release the files and modding framework, than not releasing it. Thats where modders/contributors/volunteers like me come in and basically fix/add to their game for free. They are braindead not understanding this about the gaming industry. This was already well known 5-10+ years ago.
These are facts, not uninformed opinions…
